Birth facilities

The midwife-led unit is located within the hospital (St Peters) and close to the consultant-led ‘traditional’ labour wards. This unit is run by midwives to encourage and support normal birth.

It is equipped with two birth pools offering the use of water for pain relief and/or water birth. There are facilities to support more upright positions when you are in labour, as well as space to move around such as birth balls, mats, and wall bars.
