Antenatal courses

Antenatal courses help to prepare you for your baby's birth and how to care for your newborn. Here you can find information about the courses available.

Face-to-face antenatal classes

Some of our hospitals run face-to-face parent education classes. Ask your midwife for more information about local antenatal classes in your area.

Online antenatal courses

Free online antenatal courses are being delivered by  Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust for families living in Kent. The course will cover topics including developing a close relationship with your baby and understanding responsive feeding. Sessions are based on UNICEF Baby Friendly information and led by trained NHS staff and volunteers.

Solihull online antenatal course

Developed by Registered Midwives, the online course will help you build a loving and close relationship with your baby before they arrive. There are nine modules with interactive activities, quizzes, and video clips, which you can complete at your own pace. Your partner, relative or friend can take the course too. There is also a version for female couples.

Yoga workouts

Gentle exercise can help keep you fit and healthy during pregnancy. This 45-minute video created by Instructor Live is designed for beginners to help you tone, stretch and relax.

Parent education 

Medway Community Healthcare offers a variety of parent education courses for those living in the area, including 'you and your new baby', a five-week series for new parents with babies from six weeks to six months.  On the course, you will explore adjusting to parenthood, minor illnesses and ailments, feeding and oral health, play and sleep. Bump Club Medway

If you live in Medway, you can access Bump Club, a free 12-week course that helps pregnant people to work towards a healthy weight. It's great fun as you'll get to meet other mums-to-be and learn how to make healthy choices as part of a friendly and sociable group. Women will talk about keeping active, cooking and meal preparation, relaxation and managing stress and much more.  If you want to come along, contact your midwife or complete a self-referral form.
