There is also a dedicated neonatal transport team who provide a specialist neonatal transfer service for babies across the Kent, Surrey and Sussex area.

Neonatal units

Of the five neonatal units in Kent and Medway, two are neonatal intensive care units (NICU):  The Oliver Fisher neonatal unit at Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham and the neonatal unit at William Harvey in Ashford.

There is one local neonatal unit (LNU) at Tunbridge Wells Hospital near Pembury, and two special care units (SCU) Walnut ward located at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford and Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother neonatal unit in Margate.
